Contributing to sustainable development is a core element of our strategy and of our core values. Guided by our vision “Health for all, Hunger for none”, we promote inclusive growth and a responsible use of resources to help people and planet thrive.

In 2021, the Flychem crossed a major milestone by approving its first Sustainability Plan. It collates the many strategic goals, initiatives and practices that will guide the university toward sustainability leadership. A variety of different processes plans and people contributed to the development of the Sustainability Plan, including student, staff and faculty engagement at many levels. For example, the plan followed an award-winning employee-initiated public deliberation with all stakeholders on Plant called Deliberation on Plant Sustainability.
FOR A CIRCULAR FUTURE
Flychem is helping transform our current linear into a thriving circular economy. To find ways to re-purpose post-consumer plastic waste, we have been working in partnership with various clients to make existing products easier to identify, collect and recycle.
It is essential to evaluate all steps of the cycle to reach, for example, a design that promotes viable recycling and reverse logistics. This collaborative effort has a positive impact when investing in sustainable products and processes.

Yet, for most people, sustainability comes
down to the kind of future we are leaving for the next generation.
