The UniCure range of UV-curable flexo inks for self-adhesive labels, in-mould labels, shrink sleeves, lamitubes and pharmaceutical packaging.
UniCure range
We offer a full range of UV-curable inks and coatings formulated to meet the requirements of narrow-web printers through the UniCure portfolio. Under the UniCure range we supply high-quality UV flexo inks for self-adhesive labels, in-mould labels, shrink sleeves, lamitubes and pharmaceutical packaging.
All UniCure grades are formulated to European printing-ink regulations, are free of ITX and heavy metals, and are assessed against the EuPIA Charter on raw-material selection. Our UV ranges are free of TPO.
Seven series, each built for a specific label or packaging format.
Next-generation HD printing. Low-viscosity, high-strength inks for coated paper and top-coated plastic substrates.
Low-migration inks for food packaging, built on polymeric photoinitiators from the EuPIA Group 1A/1B lists.
High-resistance inks on high-lightfast pigments, resistant to chemicals and weathering.
Flexible, product-resistant inks for laminated tube web.
Inks that stay flexible through 65 % shrink without cracking.
For labels fused into the moulded container during production.
Energy-saving curing under 395 nm LED lamps for narrow-web label presses.
White paper
High-definition flexo — 4000 dpi plates, flat-top dots, 1 % highlights and expanded-gamut colour — has moved the narrow-web label press into territory once reserved for offset and gravure. The ink has to follow.
An HD plate carries dots too small to be filled by a thixotropic, high-viscosity ink. Three things go wrong with conventional UV flexo inks on HD work: dot bridging and dirty print as ink builds on the plate shoulders; poor transfer from the fine, low-volume aniloxes of 1.5–2.5 BCM that HD requires; and low density, because a thin film from a fine anilox must carry more pigment to reach the same optical density.
Our HD series is formulated at 300–600 mPa·s with a near-Newtonian flow curve. Low thixotropy means the ink flows into the anilox cells and out again at 200 m/min without the shear-thinning lag that starves fine cells. Pigments are milled to a median below 0.3 µm with no particles above 1 µm, so colour strength per gram is maximised and gloss is not scattered away.
Every UV product contains photoinitiators and monomers, and any of them that survive cure unreacted can migrate through the pack into the food. A less-migration ink keeps conventional chemistry and chooses heavier molecules; they still migrate. A low-migration ink uses photoinitiators that are themselves polymeric or carry acrylate groups, so that during cure they react into the polymer network and become part of the film.
UniCure FP is built on this second principle: cross-linkable polymeric photoinitiators from Groups 1A and 1B of the EuPIA suitability list, no low-molecular-weight acrylates, no Fanal pigments, no mineral oils. Independent migration testing to Regulation (EU) 10/2011 protocols on lidding foil and moulded PP containers returned overall migration below 1 mg/dm² and specific migration of photoinitiators and acrylates below 10 µg/kg at the recommended ink load and cure.
Make in India and ship to the world, based on American technology.
More output from every press with fast-curing UV and LED formulations.
Trouble-free printing with consistent flow and transfer.
Press-ready formulations colour-matched to your request.
High-strength pigments allow low GSM printing without losing density.
