Coatings for the narrow-web press
UniCure coatings show very low curling on low-grammage printed substrates. At the recommended 3–3.5 g/m² they provide good scuff resistance, excellent chemical resistance, good water resistance and very high gloss.
They are common products for coated paper, metallised paper, holographic paper and foil paper, and are suitable for roller coater, gravure cylinder and anilox coating systems. With proper curing the coatings show excellent block resistance and fast cure rate, with low odour and low migration versions available.
Grades in this series
ASC 88RC
Anti-static, benzophenone-free gloss OPV for in-mould labels. Dissipates surface charge so that robots pick one label at a time.
TLC 85RC
Non-abrasive coating for thermal-transfer and direct-thermal labels, friendly to the print head.
TLC 87RC
Flexible, product-resistant varnish for laminated-tube web.
PBC 86RC
Release coating for piggy-back and re-positionable labels.
SRC 89RC
The highest scratch-resistance gloss OPV in the range.
LMC 83RC
Heat-sealable low-migration OPV, qualified with UniCure FP-LED inks for dairy lidding and IML.
