Uniform Industries has completed independent migration testing of its low-migration LED flexo system on two of the most demanding food-packaging formats: aluminium and PET lidding for yoghurt and dessert cups, and in-mould labels fused into PP containers. Testing by an accredited laboratory to Regulation (EU) 10/2011 protocols, using the fatty-dairy simulant, returned overall migration below 1 mg/dm² and specific migration of photoinitiators and acrylates below 10 µg/kg at the recommended ink load and cure. The system combines UniCure FP-LED inks, built on polymeric photoinitiators from the EuPIA Group 1A/1B lists, with the heat-sealable low-migration OPV LMC 83RC and the anti-static OPV ASC 88RC.
