Overview

The portfolio

Uniform Industries formulates and manufactures printing inks and coatings at Greater Noida, India, for printers and converters here and in export markets. The portfolio is organised into fourteen categories. Between them they cover three ways of forming a film — photoinitiated polymerisation under UV or LED lamps, evaporation of water, and evaporation of solvent — plus coatings and effect inks specified for what the finished surface has to do rather than for how it is printed. Raw materials are selected under the EuPIA Charter and pigments are heavy-metal-free. TPO is excluded across the range, being reprotoxic 1B under CLP 2025 and on the EuPIA exclusion list; low-migration grades use polymeric and multifunctional acylphosphine photoinitiators, and food-contact grades exclude ITX and benzophenone as well. Where the application calls for it, products are formulated against Regulation (EC) 1935/2004, Regulation (EU) 10/2011, the Swiss Ordinance, the German positive lists, REACH, RoHS, the EU PPWR and Nestlé Guidance. Every product carries a Technical Data Sheet, a Safety Data Sheet and a Regulatory Summary.

Navigate by process, because you already know your press. The first eleven categories are named after the printing process and the curing or drying system that goes with it: pick the one that matches the machine in your hall, then choose within it by substrate and end use. The last three group products by what the film has to do rather than how it is laid down, so start there when the specification begins with a surface property — a seal, a barrier, a slip value, an effect, a part to protect — instead of with an image. Where two categories could serve, the curing system usually settles it. UV and LED inks are 100 % solids, carry no solvent and need no drying tunnel, but LED at 385 to 405 nm cures from the substrate up, so the surface cures last and is oxygen-inhibited, while mercury lamps cure from the surface down. Water based and solvent based inks instead need drying capacity, air volume and, for solvent, extraction. Tell us the substrate, the press, the lamp or dryer and the end use, and we will point you to the grade and send the data sheets.

Product families

Choose by the process you run.

Screen Printing Inks

Ink forced through a mesh stencil by a squeegee, laying down the heaviest film in printing — typically 8 to 30 µm — in UV curing and solvent evaporating grades for plastics, glass, metal, nameplates, membrane switches and industrial marking, where opacity and chemical resistance matter more than press speed.

Pad Printing Inks

Fast solvent-releasing inks picked up from an etched cliché by a silicone pad and laid onto curved, recessed or textured parts, for toys, closures, cosmetic packs, medical devices, electronics housings and promotional goods that no flat process can reach.

UV Flexo Inks

100 % solids inks metered by anilox on narrow-web flexo presses and cured instantly under mercury or LED lamps, for self-adhesive labels, tags, tickets, shrink sleeves and light carton work, with low-migration grades for food and pharmaceutical packaging.

UV Offset Inks

Stiff paste inks split through a roller train and carried plate to blanket to substrate at film weights of typically 1.0 to 1.5 g/m², for sheetfed and narrow-web offset on folding carton, label and plastic card work that has to be finished in line.

UV Letterpress Inks

Paste inks for rotary letterpress, where a relief plate carries the image with no dampening system and the film cures under UV or LED lamps, for narrow-web label, tag and ticket printing and for dry offset decoration of tubes and closures.

UV Curable Coatings

Overprint varnishes and lacquers that cure under lamps rather than dry — gloss, matt, soft-touch, textured and drip-off — applied by flexo, screen, offset or roller to set the gloss level, add scuff and chemical resistance and make the sheet or web ready for finishing straight off the press.

UV Curable Adhesives

Solvent-free adhesives that build strength by photoinitiated polymerisation instead of by evaporation, cured in line for label lamination, pressure sensitive constructions and the bonding of film, glass and plastics where heat or solvent would distort the part.

Water Based Flexo Inks

Pigment dispersed in aqueous resin, dried by hot air as the water leaves the film, for corrugated post-print, kraft, paper sacks, tissue and other absorbent substrates where low odour and low VOC are the requirement.

Water Based Gravure Inks

Aqueous inks metered out of engraved cells by a doctor blade, for décor and laminate paper, wallpaper, gift wrap and paper-board packaging — substrates that can take the water and the heat needed to drive it off.

Solvent Based Flexo Inks

Nitrocellulose, polyamide and polyurethane systems in alcohol and ester solvents that dry between stations by evaporation, for surface and reverse printing of BOPP, PET, PE and aluminium foil on narrow- and wide-web flexible packaging presses.

Solvent Based Gravure Inks

Low-viscosity inks carried in engraved cells and dried by solvent evaporation, giving the transfer consistency that long flexible packaging runs need, in surface print and lamination grades including systems built for boil and retort processing.

Functional Coatings

Coatings specified for a property rather than a look — heat seal, cold seal release, barrier, slip and friction control, anti-fog, primers and tie coats — applied by flexo, gravure or roller, often to replace a laminated layer and keep a pack mono-material for recycling under the EU PPWR.

Specialty and Effect Inks

Inks specified for behaviour or appearance beyond colour — metallics, pearlescents, tactile and braille, matt and gloss contrast, thermochromic, fluorescent and other security and authentication effects — for print that has to be seen, felt or verified.

Industrial Coatings

Protective and decorative coatings for manufactured parts rather than packaging — metal, glass, plastic and coated board — applied by spray, dip, roller or curtain and specified for adhesion, hardness, chemical resistance and weathering.
