Quality

Every batch measured, not assumed

Consistency is what a printer actually buys. Our quality discipline specifies each grade by measured properties — viscosity, gloss, colour strength, shade against standard, cure response and the resistance set relevant to the application — and every batch is released against that specification.

Colour is controlled to a batch-to-batch tolerance so that a repeat order matches the first one on the same substrate. Our target for the digital formulation platform now in development is a batch-to-batch ΔE of 1 or less.

What we test

Gloss at 60°, rub resistance under a 2 lb weight, water, alcohol and MEK resistance expressed in rubs, scratch resistance and flexibility rated 1 to 5, and block resistance after cure. These are the numbers printed on our coating data sheets, measured rather than estimated.

UV cure is specified by dose. Data sheets state the recommended lamp output, line speed window and on-press cure checks, because an under-cured film fails on adhesion, resistance and migration at the same time.

Shade is checked against a retained standard on the customer substrate class. Light fastness is stated per grade on the Blue Wool Scale, from BWS 3 for short-life promotional work to BWS 7–8 for outdoor and decor applications.

Adhesion, resistance and end-use trials are run on the actual substrate before a grade is recommended. For glass and polyolefins this includes surface preparation and treatment level, because a print that passes a tape test on day one can still fail after a week in a humid warehouse.

Certifications our ranges carry

Eco-Passport

Carried on selected pad printing series.

ISO 10993

In-vitro cytotoxicity data on medical grades.

EN 71-3
